Climate Change

The Bible addresses Climate Change in two ways:

1) "Test all things; hold fast what is good." 1 Thessalonians 5:21. Christians are called to test and check out statements to see if they are true. This is true for spiritual matters and non-spiritual matters. God does not want believers to be moved only by emotional appeals. Emotions can sometimes override thinking and havinga sound mind.

2) The Bible tells us to manage the planet for the good and benefit of all life. (Genesis 1:28–30; Job 37–39). Thus there should be win-win solutions for managing Climate Change.

Christians have an opportunity to remove politics and charged emotions, and send the needed clear message about Climate Change!

Sadly, Climate Change is a place where both sides have filled the debate with charged emotions:

1) One side claims that everyone must make drastic and harmful hardships to save the planet. Each year deirdre predictions are made, unless the USA acts (spends lots of money) and cuts out carbon use. The deirdre predictions of the past have not come true. This side appeals to emotions and is, for the most part are wrong.

2) The other side claims there is no such thing as Climate Change. Often cites a cold day somewhere (weather) as proof. This side appeals to emotions and is, for the most part, are wrong.

If both sides are wrong, what is the truth? Climate Change is real. Global temperature has risen by about 1°F. But the cause is not being stated:

Major factors in Climate Change:

1) The Sahara Desert is growing at a very alarming rate, and little is being done to stop the growth.

2) China and India are using dirty coal more and more at a very alarming rate, and little is being done to stop the growth. Chia smog is killing people and polluting the planet. China and India's coal use is growing at a very alarming rate, and little is being done to stop the growth.

3) The Gobi Desert is growing at a very alarming rate, and little is being done to stop the growth.

4) The Amazon Rainforest is shrinking. The burning of the Amazon rainforest is at an alarming rate, and little is being done to stop it. Amazon has had a 846% increase in burned areas.

5) There are other actions that can help, but the above is the major factor. As you can see, car use in the USA is not on the list. The USA has cleaned up its air since the 1960s, when it was at its worst. The USA can do nothing to change Climate Change. EV cars do not help one bit at all. EV move engery use and does not stop it. Hybrids increase MPG, but their use does not change the outlook of Climate Change.

.Book "Weathering Climate Change" Author: Hugh Ross

While we may think of climate change as a recent issue, scientists have discussed and debated climate for well over a century. Only recently has it become the politically baffling and contentious topic we know today, inciting panic in some people and incredulity in others. When both sides are emotionally charged, how can anyone discern what is true—or know how to move forward? In Weathering Climate Change, astronomer Hugh Ross steps outside of the rancor and noise, offering a comprehensive look not only at Earth’s current climate but also at the planet’s captivating climate history. His measured perspective and realistic response are grounded in a wealth of evidence from multiple scientific disciplines. “Finally, here is a book that provides a balanced and factual investigation into the subject of climate change. . . . Weathering Climate Change is a must-read. It will give everyone some things to ponder, regardless of your current thoughts about climate change.” –Michael G. Strauss, PhD, David Ross Boyd Professor of Physics, University of Oklahoma
