Time

Our Dimensions: We live in, and are familiar with, 4 dimensions: Length, Width, Height, and Time. Each of our 3 space, spatial dimensions are 90 degrees apart.

Time for both the universe and humans is linear. Always a past, a present, and a future. One dimension of time is always moving forward. Time cannot be reversed or stopped. Thermodynamic - entropy happens with the passage of time. The law of cause and effect happens only in time. Relationships only happen in the passage of time. Our Time was created 13.79 billion years ago.

Mathematically, a 4th dimension of space can be added. This extends our familiar 3D world (length, width, depth) by adding another perpendicular direction. While not easy to visualize, it is mathematically possible.

4D space allows for impossible 3D feats, such as seeing all sides of a shape at once or passing it through hard barriers. 4D geometry is consistent and useful.

While adding dimensions of space is not easy to visualize. Removing a dimension of space (and time) is easier, and useful in understanding dimensions.

The only Holy Book to describe these facts is the Bible. Only the God of the Bible matches the facts: Physical universe has a beginning (Gen 1:1). Time has a beginning (Titus 1:2, 2 Timothy 1:9). The universe was made by that which is not visible (Hebrews 11:3. John 1:3).

While we are limited to a single linear timeline, the Bible tells us that God of the Bible is not. The Bible says God was active before our time was created:

Titus 1:2. "in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time."

2 Timothy 1:9 "This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time" .

2 Peter 3:8 "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." The meaning is that God's time is not the same as our time. Thus God can operate in one or more time dimensions, in addition to our timeline.

In the Book of John (John 20:19-33), Jesus entered a locked room. The Disciples' are surprised at His appearance for two reasons. How can He be alive and how did He enter a room with locked doors? They are allowed to touch His physical body and ate with him, as proof it was He. Jesus, now with access to extra space dimensions, would have no problem crossing objects in our limited 3D world.

With God having extra space and time dimensions, understanding the many other miracles in the Bible are somewhat more understandable. Like Jesus coming to earth, it becomes more clear: And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Philippians 2:8. Jesus on earth limited (humbled) is extra dimensions (he tired, wept and thirst...)

The only Holy Book that describes a deity with extra dimensions is the Bible. In the other Holy Books, the deity, or deities, act and operate in the time and space dimension we live in. They promise a future in the current timeline and universe. Thus, they reflect human thinking, that which is easily visualized. This does not mean that God is subject to the dimensions that he creates. He can operate with unlimited power, completely independent of his creation, including any number of space-time—or other kinds of—dimensions.

The rules of logic do not change with extra dimensions, but do become more difficult or complex to visualize, apply and test.

Who created God? This is sometimes asked as an honest question, sometimes asked as a “trick” question. In both cases, the answer is that the God of the Bible, who can operate in extra dimensions of space and time and create dimensions of space and time at will, does not have a creation point. One of God's timelines is endless in both directions, thus He needs no beginning or creating: Psalm 90:2 “from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”

Isaiah 40:28 "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom."

With extra dimensions of time (red lines). God can hear and give personal attention all the prayers of billions on earth at the same time.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

One way Christ could atone for everyone's sin: With extra dimensions of time, Christ could suffer for billions of people (everyone who has lived, is living, and will live) at His one moment of death. Human prayer is able to cross the space-time manifold and converse with God in His extradimensional and transdimensional realm. Prayer gives access to heaven's grace, power, and salvation. (Mat 6:9, Heb 4:16, Rom 5:2). Humans possess the capacity to experience life beyond our current physical life, the New Creation. The Bible states the New Creation will have different dimensions of both space and time. (Rev 21). Life continues after death (Eccl 3:11)

God has a complete view of all events, He times His actions perfectly. As such, He limits His miracles. 2 Peter 3:9, Mark 6:5-6. God has specific plans for eradicating evil and suffering. Because of our limitations, we are limited in our capacity to love. It is only because of God that we know what good is. God has designed the universe for the ending of evil. After believers die, they will transition and have more capability to love. Rev 21. God put His plan into operation before He created time. Titus 1:2 and 2 Timothy 1:9.

A critical distinction of the Biblical creation account compared to other creation scenarios is the promise of a new creation that will someday replace this present creation. This new creation goes beyond paradise restored. It is a radically and gloriously different creation governed by different laws and framed by different dimensions. Earth, while “good”, will pass away, not be restored. See Rev. 21 and 1 Corinthians 2:9
