Trinity

Trinity is the term designating one God in three persons. Although the word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, "the Trinity" has been used to designate the one God self-revealed in Scripture as: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It signifies that within the one essence of God, we have three "persons" who are neither three gods on the one side, nor three parts or modes of God on the other, but coequally and coeternally God. The Trinity is a paradox (not understood in four dimensions); Scripture declares that God is both One and Three, and both statements are true simultaneously. Since the God of the Bible is described as being both extra-dimensional and trans-dimensional, His triune nature is consistent with a being not limited to our four dimensions of space and time. Only the God of the Bible is described as having extra time and space dimensions. (Titus 1:2, 2 Timothy 1:9, Luke 24:36-49, Jer. 23:24, Gen1:1, 1 Kings 8:27 ). God is a God of Love, the Bible describes the Three in One as a relationship of Love. God is in want of nothing. Before He created mankind, He was already in a perfect relationship. The Bible relates this relationship of Love in passages: John 3:35, John 17:24, John 10:17, Romans 5:5 and Galatians 4:6. This love serves as a model for believers, see John 15:9, John 17:23, Luke 11:13.

The Bible is clear that there is only One God. (Deut 6:4 Deut 4:35; Mark 12:29; Romans 3:30 Isaiah 44:6,8) It is Monotheistic.

Yet, three distinct persons are described:

God the Father is Deity: John 6:27 1 Peter 1:2 Ex 4:22 Ps 89:26 Is 63:16 Is 64:8 Acts 17:29 Matt 3:17 Gal 3:26

Jesus Christ - Messiah is Deity: Ps 89:26 Is 9:6 John 1:1 1Tim 3:16 John 10:30,33 1John 5:20 John 8:58 Mark 14:61-62 John 14:9 Titus 2:13 Heb 1:8 Col 2:9 2Cor5:21 John 8:47 1John1:2 Heb2:5

The Holy Spirit is Deity: Gen. 1:2 1Cor 2:11 Acts 5:3-4 2Cor 13:14 1Col 3:6 1Col 12:4-6

The name for God, Elohim, is used in Genesis 1, this is plural and singular one, yet used in monotheistic verse.

Direct Scripture on the Trinity: 1 John 5:7 Mat 28:19 2 Cor 13:14.

God = The Father. God = Jesus. God = Spirit. God = one

This looks like a contradiction. Yet, this is not a contradiction, but a paradox (an apparent contradiction). Rather than expecting God to fit our mold (and limited 4D world), we must accept and acknowledge His attributes. The Bible teaches that God is extra-dimensional. He is not bound to the limits of space and time we live in, 2 Tim 1:9, Titus 1:2, Col 1:15-17, Job 9:11. The Bible teaches that we can never totally comprehend Him and know His ways, Is 55:8.

From nature, a Paradox: H2O = liquid. H2O = Gas. H2O = solid. H2O=one.

To resolve this paradox, we must add a temperature dimension. For some Bible paradoxes, we must add dimensions of space and time.

Acknowledging that God operates in extra dimensions of space and time solves the paradox of the trinity. We cannot totally picture or experience these dimensions. Yet we can share in the love God has shown in His son, Jesus. God is a God of relationships. That is what God is concerned about. That is why He revealed Himself as a being in relationships: Father, Son, and Spirit John 14:31 John 15:9.

(Some have come to other conclusions to solve this problem. Mormons claim there are many gods. JWs claim Jesus is just an angel. Both must twist scripture to come to these points. See cult page.)

Problem with Polytheism :

Given the hierarchical nature of polytheism, with its many gods possessing different levels of authority, there can be overlap and conflict, and moral and ethical chaos would also be inevitable. We see in creation evidence of design that indicates planning, development, and implementation by a single Being. See Anthropic Principle page

Problems with Strict Monotheism:

Strict monotheism—religions and belief systems with one and only one God manifested in a single Person, such as Judaism and Islam, there is no origin of love. This God has no one to express love to or to receive love from. In strict monotheism, love does not exist until the one God creates other beings and endows them with a capacity that he lacks. In strict monotheism, God is compelled to create in order to know and experience what love is. See Love Page.

Problems with panentheism

Creation (matter, gases, rocks, and the like) cannot be a god or a mind. There is no consistent definition of god. The universe cannot create itself. There is no answer to evil and suffering within creation. See Pain and Suffering in Light of God's Love and Power page.
