Sikhism was founded about 1500 by Guru Nanak in Punjab in India. Sikhism emphasizes equality, honest labor, and meditation on God. It rejects the Hindu caste system and Hindu women as second-class discrimination. Sikhism focuses on community service and congregational meals and follows the guidance of the Guru Granth Sahib, their eternal holy scripture. The holy scripture is called Adi Granth (First Scripture), more commonly called the Guru Granth Sahib.
In Sikhism, God(called Waheguru ("Wonderful Teacher") is conceived as the Oneness that permeates the entirety of creation, not a separate entity, both monotheistic and pantheistic (a conciseness in the creation).
