Dimensions - Extra Dimensions of Space and Time

We live in and operate in 4 dimensions. So much so that many just take them for granted and do not think much about them. If we think about the 4 dimensions, it may come to mind after seeing a science fiction movie with extra dimensions or time travel.

These are our 4 Dimensions:

1) Time dimension, our timeline is always moving forward, linear. It is not stoppable or reversible. All events and relationships happen in the Time dimension. The law of cause and effect happens in the Time dimension. It has been proven that our time had a beginning. There is always a past, a present, and a future for the universe, and for us as its inhabitants. See the Time page

2) We live in 3 Dimensions of space: Height, Width, and Depth. Classical physics and everyday experience shows us that two distinct, solid objects cannot occupy the same place at the same time.

The proven Space-time theorem establishes that a Causal Agent beyond space and time created the space-time dimensions of the universe. (See space-time page)

While it is difficult for us to visualize extra dimensions of space and time, those trained in advanced mathematics can calculate in such dimensions. Calculating in extra dimensions involves extending 4D spacetime mathematics (3 space + 1 time) by adding compactified (curling up extra, unobservable dimensions into a finite, small volume or adding "points at infinity), high-dimensional, or warped spatial coordinates. These calculations are used to resolve the hierarchy problem or calculate the geometry of extra dimensions. These have been used to reconcile 10 or 11-dimensional models with our observable 4-dimensional universe. These math model match the reality of our universe and the space-time theorem.

The only Holy Book that describes the Creator of the universe as able to operate in extra dimensions of Space and Time is the Bible. The law of cause and effect tells us that any beings (human or man-made "god") that operate only inside the universe can not be the one that brought the universe into existence. When we look at the "gods" and "creators" of all the other World Religions, we see beings that operate within the space and time (4D) that we live in. A god that creates the universe from his swear or blood is not an extra-dimensional being. A god that creates the universe, from marriage, or a war of the gods, is not an extra-dimensional being. A god that creates the universe while on some other star or planet is not an extra-dimensional being. (Many creation stories read like the Greek gods) The god of their holy books, must also get the creation of the universe and Earth correct. Example: To match the record of nature and science, humans must be the last-created beings. If any animal or plant is created after humans, this is a major error. If the first humans used technology (like a horse and chariot) that early humans did not have, this would be a major error. The Bible has none of these errors.

The Bible teaches that God created the universe from beyond our space and time, and that God can operate both within the universe and beyond it in extra dimensions of Space and Time. God is currently creating a new "heaven and earth", in extra dimensions of Space and Time, John 14:1-3, Rev 21:1-4, Isaiah 65:17-25 (see New Creation page). The Bible had many references to God operating in extra dimensions of Space and Time. God could operate within as many time dimensions as he chooses. See ref below.

Jesus showed His followers what a being with access to extra dimensions of space and time can do. In His resurrected body, before returning to the extra dimensions of God, Jesus walked into a locked room, not using the door or a window. As proof that He was not a spirit-ghost, He let His followers touch Him, and He ate with them. By calculating the geometry of extra dimensions, mathematicians can show how what Jesus did is possible in extra dimensions of space and time. So Who Created God? No one, God with extra dimensions of time, has no beginning and no end. God exists in timeless eternity. Christianity answers the question of who made God in the very first verse of the very first book, Genesis: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God with extra dimensions of time and space, as resolves the paradox of the Triunity, One God, revealed in Three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. See Triunity page. No other Holy Book as such a God. God with See World Religions page.

The Bible teaches that God has and operates in extra dimensions of time. With one extra time dimension, God can both be in 100% in control - (predestine earth's history) and give everyone 100% free will: (See Free will vs Predestination page). He can also hear all the prayers of the of the world at the same time.

  1. A to E is our timeline, always moving forward, linear.

Our timeline will end in the future (Matthew 24:35).

Z is one of God's extra timeline, without limits, not linear.

God can access (or be present at) any point of our timeline

    at the same time.

Only the God of Bible is described as having extra time

and space dimensions. (Titus 1:2, 2 Timothy 1:9)

    (Luke 24:36-49, Jer. 23:24, Gen1:1, 1 Kings 8:27 )

    (Psalm 139:8–12, Heb 11:3, John 4:24)

The Bible says that God exists outside and inside the dimensions of this universe, creating both the spatial and temporal dimensions under which it operates. The God model described above shows that such an entity can see and interact with everything that happens in our four-dimensional universe. Not only can He interact anywhere within our universe, but He can act at any time - past, present or future - during the history of that universe. God never runs out-of-time or is limited by it. God truly is amazing, and His abilities probably extend far beyond what has been described here. It is amazing that our measurements and math skills have arrived at the Bible's declaration, written 3,500 to 2,000 years ago. See Age of Earth page.

Why can't the universe be eternal? From science, we have the Law of Thermodynamics, the universe is heading to a "heat death". The Bible that matches current science, the the universe has always been in a state of decay (Second law of Thermodynamics): Rom 8:20-21 "For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God." Without decay (Second law of Thermodynamics), there would be no stars, plants, or life. The Second Law of Thermodynamics is how you are able to digest food. From the anthropic principle, we know that the universe was designed for a purpose. The Bible tells us of the purpose, and once the goal is achieved, the universe will have served its purpose and be replaced with a New Creation. See New Creation page, anthropic principle and the God of the Bible page.

  • God chose to express His glory through creating the universe, creating life in general, and creating humanity in particular.See Life page and Rom 1:19-20

  • The whole of the universe and all life on Earth were created for the benefit of humanity. See Anthropic principle page

  • God chose to initiate an eternal love relationship with humans. See God of the Bible page

  • God created and was acting before time began:

    • In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1)

    • No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. (1 Corinthians 2:7)

    • This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time (2 Timothy 1:9)

    • The hope of eternal life, which God... promised before the beginning of time (Titus 1:2)

    • To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 1:25)

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3)
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (Colossians 1:16-17)
The universe was formed at God's command, so that what was seen was not made out of what was visible. (Hebrews 11:3)
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)

  • In Jeremiah 23:24 God declares, “Do not I fill heaven and earth?

  • 1 Kings 8:27: “The heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain you.”

God is both extradimensional and transdimensional, that is, both immanent and transcendent.

God is omnipresent, existing everywhere in space and time. John 4:24 states that “God is Spirit.” Since God is spirit, he cannot be constrained by space and time. Since God is spirit and, thus, capable of existing and operating without a body, he can be everywhere in space without in any way disturbing the parts of space that are already occupied by physical entities. To reveal Himself, He became Human in the form of Jesus Christ. (John 1)

Bible states that the three members of the triune God coexisted in a loving relationship with one another and were planning and working out the redemption of billions of human beings before He created time.

The space-time theorems imply that God in no way is limited to or by the space-time dimensions. He is free to operate independent of all the dimensions he has created. For example, he was experiencing what we would interpret as temporal phenomena (love, relationships, planning, beginning his works of redemption) before he created the time dimension that governs the universe. Furthermore, the only dimensions that exist are the ones God has created. To use theological terms, God is simultaneously transcendent (beyond space and time and all other possibly existing dimensions) and immanent (always present and operating within space and time and all other possibly existing dimensions).
