Faith-Nature

What about those that never heard?

If God is a God of Love, how can he judge those that never heard of Jesus?

The simple answer is that the Bible states that everyone has heard. There is no excuse:

1) God's Light has gone out into the whole world. John 1:9: "The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world." (Also see John 1:1-4, 1 John 1-4) Exactly how this communication (light: life, love, and truth) occurs, we have some knowledge, but not 100% knowledge. But God is all-powerful, and can communicate to the heart of anyone and everyone.

2) Jesus personally knocks at the heart of every person who has ever lived (past, present, and future): Revelation 3:20 "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat (fellowship) with that person, and they with me." (Each person is given the opportunity (100% free will) to open the door, or reject the request. See John 3:36.)

3) God's creation (all of nature) declares God's Divine Nature, so all know and are without excuse. Romans 1:19-20 "Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."

4) The Night Sky is one of the tools God uses to teach about Himself: Psalm 19:1-4: The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. (sadly, in large cities, one can no longer see God's glory there. But, Jesus is taught there.)

5) The animals (nephesh animals, birds, and mammals) were given by God to teach us about Him. Job 12:7-8: “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you." (One lesson: Just as many animals are able to be tamed and bond to humans "a high being", so God has made us to be tamed and bonded to a higher being, the Creator of the universe. see Psalm 63:8, 1 Corinthians 6:17, John 17:21.) (sadly, in large cities, one can not see the many animals that were given by God to teach us. But, Jesus is taught there.)

6) If one receives God's light (understanding and knowledge), God will give one more light (understanding and knowledge). If one rejects God's communication (understanding, knowledge, light: life, love, and truth), it will be harder for them to come to faith in God: Matthew 13:12: "To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them." (This is due to those hardening their hearts toward God's love and truth, see Hebrews 3:15 and Ezekiel 36:26.)

7) But do these Bible verses really mean someone who has not heard of Jesus or the God of Abraham can have faith in the God of the Bible? Job of the Book of Job, never heard of Jesus or Abraham (he lived before both of them), yet he had faith, and faith is the message of the whole Bible. Job 19:25-27: "I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!"

8) Being right before God has always been about faith in God, who created everything, never about earning one's way to heaven/New Creation". Romans 4: 1-4 "What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness." (also see faith in Hebrews 11:8-19 and Genesis 15:6)

9) Faith/believing, not good works (doing good things), has always been the key to entrance to the New Creation. Ephesians 2:8-10 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. We are to do good works because we are loved (not to me loved); the motive makes all the difference.

God offers His Mercy: Mercy is "not getting what one deserves." But, God is a God of great love and compassion; to those who are humble enough to receive it, He offers what the Bible calls "Grace". Grace is "getting more than what you deserve, as a free gift." Saved: We do not get the justice we deserve. not by works: no one can earn the free gift he offers.
